The MI SPIRIT Card Game includes 28 cards in size 5.8 cm x 8.8 cm. The game contains four title cards pertaining to the spirit of Motivational Interviewing (MI) (Partnership, Compassion, Empowerment, and Acceptance) and 24 cards with statements that describe the spirit of MI.
 
In groups of no more than five people, discuss the meaning and importance of each statement card. Once the group has finished discussing, the statement card is then placed under the title card where it belongs. For example, the card with the statement "MI is done 'with' another person, not 'to' them" pertains to creating a trusting collaboration, or partnership, with a client. The statement card is then placed under the title card Partnership. 
 
The activity continues until all the statement cards have been placed under one of the title cards.
