Using MI in Groupsā
NovoVia Consulting offers a 3-day course aimed at adapting MI to a group context. Initially, MI was developed as an individual approach, focusing on conversations between two people. However, in our daily work settings we often have conversations with more than one person, requiring us to be able to use MI with several individuals at the same time. MI can be adapted and used in groups, utilizing each group member’s individual power and motivation to support the entire group's movement forward towards change.ā

Supervision & Coaching
ā
NovoVia Consulting offers a structured form of supervision and coaching that is both method and process focused, as well as based on the individual's or group's current needs. This form of coaching focuses on participant’s understanding of MI and how it is used with clients. Participants reflect on their own strengths and weaknesses in client conversations, as well as their own psychological processes that may possibly influence their client’s motivation for change. When needed, Cognitive Behavioural Coaching (CBC) theories and practical exercises are applied to discuss participant’s own inner psychological processes in client contacts.
ā
Supervision and coaching sessions often take place for 2-3 hours, once a month. Participants are active during supervision and coaching sessions by discussing general real-life situations and client cases, as well as engaging in exercises and/or role-plays, in pairs and small groups. Participants are also given training tasks to help keep MI in focus between supervision and coaching sessions.
